What is mental health?
Mental health includes our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It affects how we think, feel, and act. It also helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others, and make choices. Mental health is important at every stage of life, from childhood and adolescence through adulthood.
What is it NOT?
Mental health does not mean mental illness, personality disorders, etc. and it definitely doesn’t mean you’re “crazy“.
What is mental health awareness month?
Mental Health Awareness Month has been observed in May in the United States since 1949 and was started by the Mental Health America organization. The month is observed with media, local events, and film screenings.
