Maybe Tomorrow

Maybe Tomorrow
So… if words would suffice,
I’d write you a letter,
A maybe a sonnet or two.

If one could measure,
In meters, even in miles,
I could get you to comprehend,
The degree of this compelling emotion.

Passion that evokes persecution,
Still, calm, peaceful like a Sunday morning,
While just provocative enough,
That with the slightest spark… mayhem!

Tomorrow, if I find a way to express,
To explain,
To confess without confessing,
Maybe, Maybe I would.

For now, it’s safe to say
The flames grow every day,
And even though you can’t see them,
They consume me slowly.

If words would suffice,
You’d have been the first to know,
But fear not,
Maybe, maybe tomorrow.
